The planning appeal against the Islington Council’s refusal of the developers’ proposals for the redevelopment of Regents Wharf began on 4 June 2019. Regents Wharf is made up of four Victorian and three modern buildings. Three of the Victorian buildings are locally listed. The developers want to alter and extend the locally listed buildings, demolish the modern ones and increase the amount of office space with new buildings. The Council rejected these proposals in 2017 and the appeal has just been concluded. The evidence the Islington Society gave on behalf of the local residents who strongly object to the developers’ proposals can be seen here.
